SHOPS 1ST TRY is an on snow test event exclusively for European snowboard retailers.

Goal of the event is to give buyers and shop owners an opportunity to test and compare products of the 2023/24 season before they order.

The event is based on the initiative of leading snowboard brands and the board sport business magazine SOURCE. The concept and organisation is realized by one of the leading agencies in actionsport, the munich based company munchie Konsilium GmbH.

What benefits does SHOPS 1ST TRY give me as a snowboard retailer?
  • Cost-effective – The industry invites two people from your shop to a 2-day lift pass plus dinner on one of the two evenings at the CCA (Congress Center Alpbach). Per store, a maximum of four people in total (employees only) can come to SHOPS 1ST TRY. For shop employees, entry to the Testarea and the CCA is free during the entire event.
  • Time savings – travel once to test and compare more than 80 brands at the same date.
  • Accessibility – car (15 minutes away from the freeway exit Kramsach/ Rattenberg/ Brixlegg) and plane (airport IBK or MUC)
  • Socialising – Get to know the people behind the brands and exchange with other shops.
  • Flexibility – choose two out of three days between Sunday, 2023-01-22 and Tuesday, 2023-01-24, according to your own schedule If you want you can stay all 3 days or just come for 1 day!
  • Competitive advantage – when other retailers see the new gear for the first time, you have already ridden it!

Who can attend the SHOPS 1ST TRY?

The SHOPS 1ST TRY is designed exclusively for snowboard retailers and especially for store owners, buyers or other persons relevant for the purchase. In addition to the snowboard dealers, the most important German-speaking and European snowboard media are also invited.

Business people from the snowboard industry who are neither dealers nor exhibiting companies pay €100 entry fee per day. The organizer reserves the right to reject people who are not directly involved in the snowboard business.

Consumers are not admitted to the SHOPS 1ST TRY under any circumstances.

In all cases the pre-registration on this website is obligatory. Admission without pre-registration cannot be guaranteed for dealers, B2B customers or the media.

How do I register for SHOPS 1ST TRY?

Retailers from European countries:
As an invited retailer, just enter the code on the invitation you got from your rep in person oder via snail mail on the registration page and fill out the form. If you haven’t received an invite yet, ask your rep of one of the participating brands.

Retailers from other countries:
Easily type in the code, which you can request from one of your suppliers, on the registration page and click through the registration process. Lift pass, dinner and accommodation can be booked and payed there directly.

Industry partners:
You will receive a special code for your brand from the SHOPS 1st TRY contact person in your headquarter. After entering this code on the registration page just fill in the required data.

All other interested parties (industry reps from not-participating brands, special guests, etc...) have to fill in an application to gain access.

What's the deadline to register as a shop for the SHOPS 1ST TRY?

Registration is open until  one week prior to the event. We recommend to not wait till the last day as the spots for free lift tickets are limited.

WHAT DO I DO IF I HAVE TO CANCEL AT SHORT NOTICE DUE TO CORONA TRAVEL REGULATIONS, ILLNESS OR OTHER REASONS?

If you have registered and you or your colleagues cannot come or you need to make a change to your registration, please send an email to registration@shops-1st-try.com with the details of your registration and any changes. You can cancel all services (lift passes and entrance to the event area) at any time free of charge. Regarding your hotel booking, the cancellation conditions of the hotel or the booking platform you booked your accommodation through apply. Please take care of the changes or cancellation of your accommodation yourself.

When is SHOPS 1ST TRY happening?

From Sunday, 2023-01-22 until Tuesday, 2023-01-24. As snowboard retailer you can choose, on which days you'd like to attend the event. We always try to set the date of SHOPS 1ST TRY carefully so it does not conflict with other events that could be relevant for you as a retailer. What does it cost to enter the SHOPS 1ST TRY?

Retailers

The snowboard industry is covering the costs for two people* per shop (incl. event pass, lift ticket for two days each, , dinner on one evening as well as the side program). Spots for additional shop employees and extended stays can be booked at a retailer's own costs - with reduced prices (maximum four people per shop in total). Unfortunately, snowboard retailers from non-European countries are not able to benefit from the free spots, but can register at their own cost.

Event pass : free of charge, lift ticket: €35 per day, dinner: €25 per dinner

B2B Visitors (not exhibitors)

The organizer reserves the right to check the registration and to refuse it if necessary!

Eligible persons can take part under the following conditions:

Event pass : €100 per day, lift ticket: €35 per day

 

Exhibitors

Number of free event passes, lift tickets and dinner for staff dependent on stand size (according to concept and registration form). 

Additional personnel and additional persons belonging to the company: Event pass : €25 per day, lift ticket: €35 per day

 

Consumers 

Final consumers are under no circumstances permitted to enter SHOPS 1ST TRY!

 

Where do I get my event pass and lift ticket?

After you have successfully registered you will automatically receive an email with all vital information. You will receive information about the current status of the program, schedule and hygiene measures approximately 2 weeks before the event via email.
